The Eeeeeevillllll that is Mitch McConnell. Bob goes to church. Returns unsinged. And a wonderful year-end, year-in-review conversation with the irrepressible Dan Fisher.

And lo! While all the other shows were on holiday, Bob did hot up the mic and the HORN Family/Community/Congregation did join in conversation and good-fellowship. And there was much rejoicing. In a world gone mad, there's no such thing as a holiday.

Once upon a time, news cycles tended to go relatively quiet this time of year. That's why we had all those interminable year-in-review pieces that littered the media landscape like so much confetti at a New Year's bash. Gone are the days. Now, our divisions, our bones-jutting-from-the-skin fractures, our manifest cultural ugliness, keeps us on the edge of our seats waiting to hear the next outrage. Anti-vaxxers. Nitwit Nero inveighing against "windmills" ("Wind TURBINES, Bob," yells Sparky), Rudy Ghouliani declaring he's a better Jew. So here we are: it's damned near Christmas and "peace on earth to people of good will" has never been further out of reach.

The Pageants are becoming as predictable as a reality TV show. Thursday was Pile-on-Pete, and "Wine Cave Billionaires" needs to be a band name by the end of the weekend. Tom Steyer needs to get off his term limits fixation. America's Nazi problem continues. Carnivorous vegans. Interesting news from the Mountaintop Removal struggle . . . and from a most unexpected source. The Front Porch gang takes on the question of withholding the Articles.
